About our Founding Father

Prior to establishing Mohamed Ghattour & Co, Mr. Mohamed worked in the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Minister Plenipotentiary, where he served as an advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office. Mr. Mohamed Ghattour was also assigned as the Director of the Economics Department.

Mr. Mohamed also served 1 year as the Libyan Head of Mission in Brazil. In addition to these roles, Mr. Mohamed worked for 10 years with ESSO Libya in several senior accounting and financial roles.

As the Country’s Senior Partner of Mohamed Ghattour & Co, the late Mr. Mohamed was responsible for maintaining the quality of all business operations, including managing clients and the office.

Mr. Mohamed Ghattour developed particularly strong relationships with his clients, whether international or domestic. He was considered a trusted and capable advisor by all government entities and is now succeeded by his son Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ghattour.

About Mr. Ahmed Ghattour

Mr. Ahmed Ghattour is an MBA graduate from Henley Business School – University of Reading, UK. He is also a holder of BA Accounting & Finance degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Mr. Ahmed Ghattour has over 15 years of auditing experience in accountancy and auditing. While providing his professional services in Malta and Dubai, Mr. Ahmed Ghattour has gained broad experience and solid knowledge of international accounting and business standards.

Mr. Ahmed Ghattour completed various continuing professional education programs and became a member of many national and multinational organizations, such as:

  1. Financial Accountants (AFA) (Associate Member);
  2. Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Australia (MIPA) (Member);
  3. UAE Association for Accounting and Auditing (Acting Member);
  4. Malta Institute of Management (MIM) (Member);
  5. Chartered Management Institute UK (FMA) (Acting Fellow);
  6. Arab Organization for Certified Public Accountants (Member);
  7. CPA at the Libya Stock Market under No. 9. (This certification has authorized him to audit listed companies in Libya).
  8. Association of International Accountants ( an Associate Member)

It is also worth mentioning that he has been awarded a certificate of appreciation from the “World Bank” for being one of the contributors to the project “Doing Business in Libya” since 2016.

Currently, Ahmed Ghattour is:

  1. A board member of Wahda Bank, which is the 3rd largest bank in Libya.
  2. Since 2013 he is also a member of the United Insurance Company which is one of the leading insurance companies in Libya.
