Working Conditions and Labour Relations in Libya

Working conditions are defined in Labor Law No. 12/2010.

Work Permits and Labour Relations

  1. Foreigners who work in Libya are required to have a work permit which must be applied in advance by the prospective employer.
  2. Permission is normally granted to those having the skills and qualifications that are required in Libya and are not specifically prohibited by the Labor Office.
  3. The approval for a work permit is given usually between 10-15 days after the application is received.
